David Pritchard
Production Manager and Technical Theatre Consultant

David Pritchard graduated from Hull University with a BA (Hons) in Drama in 1976.
​
He has spent his entire working life in the technical and production side of live theatre. Starting in stage management at Lancaster, subsequently as Stage Manager at Oldham, Plymouth and Royal Court Theatre, London. He then moved into Production Management at the Lyric Theatre Hammersmith, and then four years at the National Theatre, London.
​
He joined the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in 1987 as Production Manager, subsequently becoming Head of Production, with responsibility for all the Opera House’s making departments. In 2010 he was part of the design team responsible for the ROH’s new production workshop at Purfleet, one of the largest purpose-built scenery workshops in Europe. He was also the ROH Deputy Technical Director.

Since 2017 David has been working as a freelance Production Manager. Regular clients include,Birmingham Royal Ballet,English National Opera,Glyndebourne Festival Opera, Shobana Jeyasingh Dance and The Royal Albert Hall.

In 2017 David was awarded The Gold medal of The Governors of The Royal Ballet.
